Why upgrading is the rarest grind
The Blacksmith upgrades characters 1 → 5 stars with success rates that scale inversely with the character's roll rarity. Per the Roblox badges API, the Legendary Blacksmith badge (1/100M character) has only 10,045 awards; The Blacksmith badge (1/999,999,999 character) has 11 awards — the rarest in the game.
Success-rate ladder
Each step (1→2, 2→3, 3→4, 4→5) uses a per-character success probability. The aggregate 1→5 probability is the product of all four step successes. Plan attempts accordingly.
Use VIP for upgrade luck
VIP (+40% Upgrade Luck, additive) materially improves odds. Combine with Longer Potions to keep upgrade-window buffs active across multiple attempts.
Potion timing
Activate your strongest luck potion right before the upgrade attempt — luck is consumed on attempt start, not on completion.
Pick the right tier
Common-tier characters (Huzzless) are cheap test fodder. Save your rare characters for sessions where VIP + Max Luck + active event buffs are all stacked.
